Eugene "Jimmy" Clifton

June 2, 1950 - February 20, 2021

Eugene “Jimmy” Clifton was born June 2, 1950 and departed his life Saturday February 20th at Gadsden Riverview Hospital and will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday February 27th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thomas Dixon Jr. officiating burial will follow in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers include Allen Starr, Sammy Lee Starr, Eric McCray, Chad Threatt, Bobby Joe Williams and Tommie Wright. Flowers girls will be nieces. Jimmy leaves his cherish, loving and devoted wife, Pearlie Mae Starr Clifton of Cedar Bluff; son, Eric McCray of Centre; daughters, Lee Ann (Chad) Clifton Threatt of Piedmont and Myra McCray of Atlanta, Ga.; chosen son, Allen (Meredith) Starr of Cedar Bluff; brothers, Lathan Clifton and Lester Pickens both of Cedar Bluff; sisters, Terry (Harry) Moore, Barbara (Jimmy) Dupree and Shan Clifton all of Cedar Bluff; grandchildren, Zarriah, Karter, Navaeh and Ma’Kayla; nephews, Timmy Starr, Curtis Starr and Alex Starr, Michael Moore of Cedar Bluff, Kenneth Pickens of Cedar Bluff; nieces, Alexia (Bobby Joe) Williams, Cassandra (Terry) McBride and Amanda Starr, Angela Wright, Holly Wright, Andreka Harbour, La’Monica (Feion) Perry of Centre, Jennifer (Matthew) Wade of Rome, GA., Tasia Moore of Cedar Bluff, Candria Dupree of Cedar Bluff, Anita Bass of Cedar Bluff; sisters-in-law, Wanda Starr of Cedar Bluff, Ruth Ann (Jeff) Harbour of Piedmont and Betsy (Harry) Fife of Centre; brothers-in-law, Sammy Starr, Buster Starr and Tim Starr; host of friends and family. Mr. Clifton was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late Annie Elizabeth Clifton. Jimmy worked faithfully for the Ellis Brothers for many years and served in the United States Air Force.
