Kathleen Leslie Monroe, age 59 of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday October 4th at RMC of Anniston. Funeral service will be held 2 PM, Friday, October 8th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Phillip Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1PM until 2PM Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will include Dalton Chesnut, PJ Waldrop, Shane Wells, Geoff Monroe, Keith Laurent, and Doug Akin. Survivors include her husband, Goeff Monroe; sons, Phillip Jason (Lori) Waldrop and Randall Curtis Waldrop; daughter, Ashley Nicole (Shane) Wells; mother, Marsha Eleanor Akin; brother, Leslie Keith (Madalena) Laurent; grandchildren, Dalton Gage Chesnut, Elizabeth Abigail Waldrop, and Rylee Jade Wells. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Alicia Kathleen Waldrop. Kathy was an avid collector of all things Tigger and loved Saturdays in the fall, watching Auburn play. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Mrs. Monroe’s name to research to end childhood cancer. Perry Funeral Home Directing.
