Kim Anne Malinowski

June 13, 1974 - July 27, 2021

Surrounded by her loved ones at her home, Kimberly Anne Malinowski, age 47 of Centre, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 27, 2021, at noon. Kim’s life will be celebrated on Friday, July 30, 2021, at Perry Funeral Home in Centre. Visitation for friends will be held from 12:30-2PM, with service to follow in Perry Chapel at 2PM, with Rev. Mike Turner and Father Thomas Nattekkadan officiating. Kim will forever be missed by her loving protector and husband, Master Sergeant USMC, Palmer Malinowski, BSN, MSN, Centre, AL; her daughter, Tori (Abby) Andrade, Centre, AL; her son, Noah Malinowski, USN, Portsmouth, VA; her grandson, Max; her mother, Nettie McCord, Centre, AL; her father, John “Pat” (Betty) McCord, Cedar Bluff, AL; her sisters, Wendy (Greg) Moon, Centre, AL; Stephanie (Todd) Morgan, Centre, AL; Diane (Rock) Smith, Louisville, KY; her brothers, James (Karen) McCord, Cedar Bluff, AL; Michael (Amy) McCord, Cedar Bluff, AL; her sister in law, Jennifer McCord, Cedar Bluff, AL; as well as several nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Kim. Kim fought a valiant battle against cancer, never failing to take time to love and encourage others, as had been her life’s habit in many roles: as the wife of Master Sergeant, USMC, Palmer Malinowski, hosting his young marines who were away from home; in youth ministry for more than a decade at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, NC where her career marine husband was stationed; as a hairdresser; as mom to Tori and Noah; as a daughter; as the best baby sister; as a fun aunt; as her favorite role as a Mimi to Max; most recently, as a registered nurse, after “mothering” younger classmates through nursing school, until her health prevented her from working. Even homebound, Kim encouraged others through texts, calls, words, and deeds, continuing to be a light that drew others to her. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, on June 13, 1974, Kim experienced a life well-lived. She loved to travel both in the US and abroad. She enjoyed playing the piano; painting and drawing, often gifting loved ones with her works; taking family vacations; singing off-key; cooking new dishes; and spending time with family and friends, making memories. She will forever be celebrated in the lives of those who loved her and are eternally grateful for those precious memories of her. In lieu of flowers and at her request, memorials may be made in her honor to UAB Gynecologic Oncology, ℅ Warner K. Huh, MD; 1700 6th Avenue South; WIC Room 10360; Birmingham, AL 35233, or go by going directly to these links: https://go.uab.edu/GYNONCMalinowski https://go.uab.edu/GYNONCResearchMalinowski Perry Funeral Home directing.
