Mr Ricky Jones

November 10, 1948 - December 25, 2021

Ricky Jones age 73 of Gadsden passed away Saturday December 25th at Northside Health Care. A funeral Service will be held Thursday December 30, 2021 @ 1:00pm at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eugene Burgess officiating, the family will receive friends from 11:00 am till the time of service. Survivors include daughters, Valarie Smith (William Todd) and Angela (Dan) McMillan; sisters, Cathy McDuff (John), Wanda Green and Jeanne Kent; grandchildren, Danielle (Bryan) Day, Ashley (Tim) Cheatwood, Michael Putnam and Daniel Putnam; great-grandchildren, Aubrie Smith, Abbie Day, Gavin Cheatwood, Shamus Cheatwood, Annie Day and Grayson Edwards. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Winston Jones, Jerald Jones, Bennie Jones, Hugh Don Jones and Ronnie Jones; sister; Barbara Fortenberry, and great-grandchild, Lily Cheatwood. Mr. Jones was a native of Etowah County and the son of the late Doc Brown and Bethel Mae Jones and a member of Slackland Baptist Church. He loved sports, As a young man he played basketball, baseball and football. He enjoyed NASCAR, the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and especially Alabama Football “Roll Tide”, Braves #1.
