Ronny Jones

March 5, 1944 - October 7, 2020

Ralls Gramling “Ronny” Jones, age 76 of Leesburg, passed away Wednesday, October 7th at UAB Hospital. Funeral services will be 3:PM Sunday, October 11th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Eugene Burgess officiating; burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3:PM Sunday, at the funeral home. Honorary Pallbearers will be the men of Slackland Baptist Church Brotherhood Breakfast. Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Sandra Kaye Jones; children, Brent (Jeanney) Jones, Lorie Smith, Perry (Erica) Fletcher; five grandchildren, Colby (Savannah) Jones, Dylan (Lillee) Fletcher, Tyler Benefield, Tanner Jones and Mackenzie Prater; one brother, Ricky Jones; three sisters, Jeanne Kent, Wanda Green and Cathy McDuff; a host of nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Winston Jones, Jerrell Jones, Hugh Don Jones, Benny Jones and a sister, Barbara Warren. Mr. Jones was born on March 5, 1944 to the late Rev. Dock Brown Jones and Bethel Mae Jones. He was a Christian and a proud member of Slackland Baptist Church. Mr. Jones was a avid fisherman and hunter, but most importantly, he was a selfless husband, father, and grandfather with a personality bigger than life itself and never met a stranger. Mr. Jones retired from Cherokee Electric Co-op after 33 years of faithful service and served in the Army National Guard.
