Samuel Tolliver Ellis Jr.

Samuel Tolliver Ellis, Jr. age 77 of Cedar Bluff, Alabama passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Redmond Regional Medical Center due to complications associated with congestive heart failure. Sam was born in Dalton, Georgia to Samuel Tolliver Ellis and Lillie Mae Meadows Ellis on February 29, 1944. He accepted Jesus as his savior at age sixteen and kept his faith throughout his life. After attending Dalton High School, Sam joined the Air Force which brought him to Louisiana for a portion of his life. His free spirit led him to pursue many other careers, interests and hobbies. He enjoyed photography, scuba diving, relic hunting, history, computers and travel. His travels took him to many interesting places including Bermuda, the Bahamas, and Antigua, and others. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Felicia Mae Ellis; sisters, Mrs. A. Lee Smith (Gail) and infant Patsy Ellis. Survivors include his children, Cherie Gail Ellis Sealy (Mark), Karen Ellis Easterly (Darren) Tiffany Ellis May (Shane), Sam Tolliver Ellis III (Kara) and Shannon Ellis Christian (Dale) all living in Louisiana; a stepson, Justin Williams (Emily) living in Alabama; 17 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. The family would like to express gratitude to Angel Michelle Slayton for her friendship and care for Sam and also sincere thanks to Bobby Hamby for his friendship. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Nation officiating. Burial will follow at Weiss Lake Memorial Gardens. Perry Funeral Home directing.
