Virginia Fletcher Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Virginia Fletcher, age 82, of Centre passed away Tuesday July 19th at Advent Health Redmond. Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday July 23rd at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Smith, Rev. Trey Jordan and Honorary Preacher, Rev. James Rainey, officiating. Burial will follow in Daniel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers include Bobby Studdard, Steve Brewster, Chris Wilson, Tyler Wilson, Dillon Adrian, and Eli Mayo. Honorary Pallbearers include: Owen Fletcher, Jaxon Fletcher, Cameron Mayo, Lance Estes, Blake Kiser, Brian Kiser, Bo Bedwell, Donnie Wynn, Johnny Wynn, Tracy Pierce, Dewayne Pierce, Jimmy Green, Sidney Green, Jeff Weaver, Stanley Weaver, and Joel Lay. Survivors include sons, Hank (Geraldine) Fletcher and Tony (Judy) Fletcher; daughters, Virginia “Ginny” (Gene) Wilson and Lisa (Scott) Adrian; sister, Ann Crist; grandchildren, Eric (Julie) Fletcher, Chris Wilson, Jenna (Eli) Mayo, Tyler (Amanda) Wilson, Stephanie Self (Kevin Kaiser), Stacey Kiser (Chris Mobbs), and Beth (David) Comer; host of great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, and special pet, Sandy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lee “Buddy” Fletcher; brothers, Ralph Brewster and Earl Chumbler; sisters, Jewel Studdard, Margaret Latham, and Jeanette Garrett, and great-grandson, Kaleb Self. Mrs. Fletcher was a native of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late Hoyt and Minnie Brewster. She was a faithful member of Centre Congregational Holiness Church where she was a prayer warrior. She touched the lives of children by teaching Sunday School and Children’s Church. She enjoyed her years of service and work at Cherokee County Hospital and CCHR. She enjoyed being the “entertainment coordinator” at the Senior Social Center. She loved all children, animals, and nature. She was an avid Brave’s baseball fan and loved Southern Gospel music. She was known around town as the little “hat lady”. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff at CCHR (Rehab) Center and AdventHealth Redmond for their care, especially CCU nurse, Cheryl.
